Another College Blog

  So, we did Rocky Horror and I was Dr. Frank N Furter.  I definitely didn't look like I do as Kayla thanks to dark makeup and a wig, but it was a little weird because I was out in women's clothing, but I was out as Kevin not as Kayla. I had to remind myself that if anybody I knew saw me, I was Kevin.  Mia actually borrowed one of my maid outfits for her costume. I guess things have come full circle. She made me get the maid outfit to clean her room and here she was having to borrow it herself even if there was no way in Hell she was cleaning anything herself.  I have a job now and it's the one I wanted the least. Today was training and I'll start for real tomorrow.  The thing that sucks is that I've been hired as Kayla rather than Kevin.  I'm working under the table and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't care anyway. I really wanted a desk job, but I am now waitressing at Mia's favorite restaurant--Mom's. The uniforms are horrible and I am pretty sur...

  I stopped on the way home yesterday to get my hair and nails done.  Mia demanded I do it after Christmas break and decided I should do it again after spring break. The pink nails are really not useful for me because they are about to be disassembled before class tomorrow.  The hair however will stay.  It's starting to get more body and the girls were thrilled with how well it turned out. I have to admit that I am starting to look more and more like a girl.  Even I can see it.  I had a few interviews today as the job search continues. I hope to hear back by tomorrow.  Wish me luck.

  I'm not heartbroken, but it would have been nice.  They told me I'd know by Monday, but I didn't find out until today. I'm wondering if the person they picked found out yesterday.  I haven't told Mia yet, but Becs didn't seem too upset and told me that I'd find something. That was appreciated. I kind of feel like this is a bad job to look for a job because all the good ones have already been filled.  We're not going to be here much longer before summer so people probably aren't looking at students as employee solutions.

  I meant to publish this yesterday and forgot to hit publish after writing it.  I had a job interview at the library yesterday and it went okay.  Believe it or not, I've never had a job interview before.  It's not like i haven't had a job, I just never had to interview as my parents' friends were willing to hire me and they already knew me better than they would from an interview.   I don't mind getting a job, but having a job as a woman has all sorts of other issues. For one, if the purpose is to get me money to pay for clothes, having to get more work-suitable clothes will be an issue.  This outfit was loaned to me by Ashleigh, but I generally have no sensible shoes or professional looking outfits. I have very few pairs of women's pants. Social security is going to be a big hang up.  At the college, they're very open to non-binary and transgender students, but a private employer might have a bigger problem with discovering Kayla isn't actually ...
